An article in the latest issue of European Pharmaceutical Manufacturer magazine explores the benefits surrounding through-container ID verification for the testing of incoming raw materials. The article describes how Cobalt's RapID system is an effective tool as it works reliably through the most common incoming containers in pharma manufacturing. Handheld Raman instruments are generally compatible with thin plastic bags and some glass containers, but are not useful when containers become opaque. RapID removes the need to open containers, either to take a sample for more conventional analysis, or to gain access to the material for analysis with a handheld Raman instrument.
