Cobalt Light Systems has been named winners of the Oxford Brookes Innovation Award at the Oxfordshire Business Awards 2015. Craig Tombling, Cobalt Chief Operating Officer, was presented with the award by Oxford Brookes University Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Linda King, at the awards night on June 19th.
The Award is open to any organisation irrespective of size or sector, with the judges looking for evidence of the introduction - within the last three years - of an innovative product, process, service or business method. The award recognises Cobalt's development of the Insight100 product for bottle screening of liquids, aerosols and gels at airport security checkpoints. Insight100 systems are deployed at more than 65 European airports including eight of the top ten hubs.
The award is the latest in a string of recent accolades. Cobalt was a recipient of the Queen's Award for Enterprise - International Trade in April 2015, and is top of the 2015 SME Export Track 100 - a list of the fastest growing small and medium enterprises in the UK.
